Threatening Message Against Actor Salman Khan Sent to Mumbai Police Helpline; FIR Registered MH-SALMAN-THREAT

The Mumbai traffic police received a threat targeting Bollywood actor Salman Khan, prompting the registration of a case, officials reported on Monday.

According to a police official, the message was sent to the traffic police’s WhatsApp helpline on Sunday. The sender allegedly threatened to bomb Khan’s vehicle and physically assault him by forcefully entering his residence.

A staff member from the traffic police control room informed senior officers about the message. Based on this, the Worli police registered a case under sections 351(2) and (3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which pertain to criminal intimidation, the official stated.

An investigation is currently underway, he added.

This isn’t the first time the traffic helpline has received threatening messages aimed at the 59-year-old actor.

Previously, Khan was the target of death threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Bishnoi is currently incarcerated in Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati jail on charges that include attempted murder and extortion. In April last year, suspected gang members fired shots outside Khan’s residence in Bandra.

A few weeks after the incident, Navi Mumbai police claimed to have exposed a plot by the same gang to assassinate Khan during one of his visits to his farmhouse in Panvel, near Mumbai.
