Emma D’Arcy of ‘House of the Dragon’ Joins Tom Cruise in Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s Upcoming Film

 “House of the Dragon” star Emma D’Arcy has been added to the cast of Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s untitled film, which features Tom Cruise in the lead.

According to Deadline, the Academy Award-winning director is currently filming the project at Pinewood Studios.

“It’s a privilege to collaborate with such remarkable and meticulous artists as Alejandro and Tom. They’re true masters of their craft, and observing them work together has been an incredible experience,” said D’Arcy, who portrays Rhaenyra Targaryen in the HBO series, in a statement to the outlet.

The film, produced by Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment, is scheduled for release on October 2, 2026. Its synopsis describes it as: “The most powerful man on Earth races against time to prove he’s the savior of humanity before the catastrophe he’s triggered brings total destruction.”

Iñárritu has previously won Best Director Oscars for both Birdman and The Revenant.

Birdman also received Academy Awards for Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay.

Alongside Cruise, the ensemble cast of the untitled film includes Sandra Hüller, John Goodman, Jesse Plemons, Sophie Wilde, Riz Ahmed, and Michael Stuhlbarg.

Meanwhile, Cruise is also gearing up for the Cannes debut of the eighth Mission: Impossible film, set to hit theaters on May 23.
