New Delhi, Apr 8 – Singer Vishal Dadlani has announced his decision to part ways with the reality show Indian Idol, bringing an end to his six-year tenure as a judge.
The musician shared a video on his Instagram page, where he appeared with fellow judges Shreya Ghoshal and Badshah.
“That’s a wrap from me, everyone! After six uninterrupted seasons, tonight marks my final episode as a judge on Indian Idol. I sincerely hope the show will miss me as deeply as I’ll miss being a part of it. Thank you to Shreya, Badshah, Adi, Aradhana, Chitra, Anand ji, Sonal, Pratibha, Sahil, Saloni, Muskaan, Abisha, the entire backstage crew, Vilas, Pakya, Kaushik (Pinky), and every judge, singer, and musician who’s been part of this journey! It truly became my second home — that stage radiates nothing but love,” the 51-year-old wrote in the clip.
“Now it’s time to return to creating music, performing live, and staying far away from makeup. Jai Ho,” he added.
Renowned for songs like Ik Junoon, Jhoome Jo Pathaan, Selfie Le Le Re, Dhoom Again, and Balam Pichkari, Dadlani shared that being based in Mumbai for six months annually no longer aligns with his priorities.
“Goodbye, friends. The fun I had over six seasons will be outdone only by how much I’ll miss it. The love I’ve received from this show has been beyond anything I imagined. I’m stepping back simply to reclaim my time — being tied to Mumbai for six months each year isn’t sustainable,” his caption read.
Dadlani joined Indian Idol as a judge in 2018.
