Singer Vishal Dadlani has announced his departure from the reality show Indian Idol, where he served as a judge for six consecutive years.
He has posted a video on Instagram, featuring himself with fellow judges Shreya Ghoshal and Badshah.
He said -“That’s a wrap for me, everyone! After six continuous seasons, tonight marks my final episode as a judge on Indian Idol. I genuinely hope the show will miss me as much as I’ll miss being part of it. Thank you to Shreya, Badshah, Adi, Aradhana, Chitra, Anand ji, Sonal, Pratibha, Sahil, Saloni, Muskaan, Abisha, the full crew, Vilas, Pakya, Kaushik (Pinky), and all the past co-judges, singers, and musicians”! It truly felt like family. That stage is pure magic,” the 51-year-old musician expressed in the clip.
“Now it’s time to return to music-making, performing live shows, and living makeup-free. Jai Ho,” he added.
Recognized for songs like Ik Junoon, Jhoome Jo Pathaan, Selfie Le Le Re, Dhoom Again, and Balam Pichkari, Dadlani said he can no longer remain confined to Mumbai for half the year.
He said “Goodbye, friends. The fun I’ve had over six seasons will be cherished even more in memory. @shreyaghoshal @badboyshah @adityanarayanofficial #IndianIdol @fremantleindia @sonytvofficial @aradhanabhola @chitralangeh This show gave me more love than I ever expected. I’m forever thankful to everyone involved. I really do hope the show will miss me the way I’ll miss it. My main reason for leaving is to reclaim my time—I just can’t keep being in Mumbai for six months each year,” his caption read.
Vishal began judging the popular reality series in 2018.
