A three-day International Children’s Film Festival commenced on Sunday in Odisha’s Kalahandi district, according to organisers.
Over 30 feature films, short films, documentaries, and child-created movies from 15 different countries will be showcased during the event.
The festival also includes a range of capacity-building workshops, masterclasses, and panel discussions tailored for the youth.
Hosted by Smile International Film Festival for Children and Youth (SIFFCY), the event is being held in Kalahandi for the first time and will run until April 15.
On the first day, screenings included ‘Biswa’ (Hindi) directed by Anuj Tyagi, the Polish film ‘Tripple Trouble’, the Lithuanian production A Butterfly Heart, Ukraine’s The Dragon’s Spell, along with short films from Georgia and India.
The inaugural ceremony drew guests from various parts of the globe.
