 – Actor Owen Cooper, known for his role in the internationally acclaimed Netflix series Adolescence, has revealed that he still hasn’t watched the complete show.

The four-part series, created by Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham, debuted on March 13. It follows the story of 13-year-old Jamie Miller (played by Cooper), a schoolboy who faces arrest over the murder of a fellow student.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Cooper shared that he avoids watching himself on screen. “I haven’t seen the whole thing,” he said.

“I really don’t enjoy watching myself. And now that Jack says it’s being shown in schools… that’s basically my worst nightmare,” he continued.

Following the series’ widespread success, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer declared that it would be made accessible for streaming in schools throughout the country.

Cooper mentioned he might watch some parts of the show, but would definitely skip one particular episode.

“There’s no way I’m watching it at my own school. I’d maybe watch episode one, two, and four — but definitely not three,” he said.

Also featuring Stephen Graham, the show is helmed by director Philip Barantini.

Within just two weeks of its release, Adolescence became the most-watched limited series in Netflix history, amassing 66.3 million views.
